The temple was originally a hotel, and the rooms needed a makeover but the budget could only afford murals and some wood refinishing. The smaller room is used as a dojo and place for visiting monks to sleep. The first room is used as a meeting room and where broadcasts are filmed, so the background needed to be quiet.
